Could you imagine having a net worth of over $1 Million? How about $300 Million. Imagine having a yearly salary of $155 Million/ year. Well that’s exactly what Michael Jackson‘s been raking in from the grave. Despite being allegedly over $400 million in the red at the time of his death, his estate is now made $300 Million since his death.
The Jackson estate’s billion dollar fortune now included albums, digital track downloads, ringtone totaling $429 million according to a 2010 estimate. Add in his film and television properties and you can add another $392 million. Licensing, touring, recording contracts, and music publishing added another $196 million. Most recently Nintendo Wii’s Michael Jackson: The Experience moved 3 million copies since its release in April of which the deceased artist receives royalties. Throw in residuals from his stake in his Sony/ATV music catalog and he’s making MORE MONEY IN DEATH THAN IN LIFE.
That trend will likely continue as well. The estate plans to release 10 posthumous albums of the singer’s music through 2017 which could potentially bring in another $250 million. While I don’t wish death on anyone it sure has worked out well for Tupac and Mike hasn’t it?
