His appearance in the visuals for Chris Brown's track 'Look At Me Now' lands a nomination for Best Hip-Hop Video while the first single from 'Tha Carter IV,' '6 Foot 7 Foot,' welcomes a Best Club Banger mention.
Kanye West accounts for nine awards nominations, with Hustler of the Year, Video Director of the Year and Producer of the Year, just to name a few. Nicki Minaj holds the female rapper spotlight, as she's the only woman highlighted for her work in the hip-hop spectrum. She lands Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year nods. Wiz Khalifa,Busta Rhymes and Jay-Z are more of the acclaimed rappers nominated for awards. Surprisingly, Frank Ocean, who appears on Hov and West's 'Watch the Throne' LP, is in the running for awards as well, though he's known as a singer and not a hip-hop artist
